Privacy Policy

TradeHawk provides bid and contractor intelligence for California public works subcontractors. This policy explains what information we handle, where it comes from, why we hold it, and the choices you have — including your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

1. Information we collect

Public procurement records

Most of our data comes from public California agency procurement portals — solicitations, plan holder and prospective bidder lists, award records — together with public federal spending records. These are public records published by government agencies.

Because agencies publish them, these records can include business contact information: a company name, a representative's name, a work email address, and a work phone number. Under California law that business contact information can still be personal information, and we treat it that way.

Information you give us

If you request access or subscribe, we collect your email address, the trade you work in, the counties you bid, and (for paid subscriptions) billing details handled by our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) generated by our hosting provider. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party ad pixels.

2. How we use information

To operate the service: compiling bid intelligence and delivering reports.
To contact businesses about the service, including outreach to companies whose public bidding activity indicates the service is relevant to them.
To answer your requests and provide support.
To bill subscriptions and keep records required by law.
To improve accuracy and detect data-quality problems.

3. We do not sell personal information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We provide a subscription service that organises and interprets public records; we do not offer contact lists for resale, and subscribers may not redistribute contact information obtained through TradeHawk.

4. Who we share information with

Only with service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, for the purposes above:

5. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident you have the right to:

Know what personal information we hold about you and where it came from.
Delete personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share, but the right stands).
Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@tradehawkhq.com with the request and the email address or company name concerned. We will confirm receipt within 10 days and respond within 45 days, as the CCPA requires. You may use an authorised agent. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Removing a business contact record

If your name, work email or work phone number appears in our data and you want it removed, email privacy@tradehawkhq.com. We will remove it and add it to a permanent suppression list so it is not re-added by a later collection run, and so you receive no further email from us. You do not need to be a customer to make this request.

6. Email from us

Every message we send includes an unsubscribe method and our physical mailing address. Replying STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message adds you to our suppression list permanently. We honour suppression across all future campaigns, not just the one you replied to.

7. Data retention

We retain public procurement records for as long as they are useful as historical bidding intelligence, because their value is precisely that they are historical. Account and billing records are kept as long as your subscription is active and afterwards only as required by law. Suppression entries are kept indefinitely — that is what makes them effective.

8. Security

Data is held with the providers listed above, access is limited to those who need it, and credentials are stored in managed secret storage rather than in code. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

9. Accuracy

Our data is compiled from third-party public records and can be incomplete or out of date. We correct errors when we learn of them — please tell us if you find one.

10. Children

TradeHawk is a business service and is not directed to anyone under 18.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes affecting subscribers, notify you by email.
